We are located
A good, old fashioned English village pub...
in the small Warwickshire village of Whichford, a Grade 4 Conservation Area and part of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Whichford is an ideal holiday location being halfway between Stratford-on-Avon and Oxford and yet close to the classic Cotswolds towns of Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow on the Wold, Burford and Broadway.
Whichford is a popular area for walkers, and there are golf courses, fishing lakes, swimming pools, tennis courts and
...overlooking Whichford village green
riding stables nearby.
The name of the pub reflects the history of the village.
"Wicford" is recorded in William the Conqueror's Doomsday book, and we know that Sir John de Mohun and the Knights of Dunster held the manors, the church and the castle here until about 1340.
The castle is now long gone, but the beautiful Norman church still remains.
