Cotswold Pub with Rooms

A Cotswold Pub with Rooms

The Norman Knight is a classic village pub with rooms in Whichford, near Shipston-on-Stour. Set in a beautifully restored former bakery overlooking the village green, it is a relaxed place to eat, drink and stay in the Cotswolds.

Spend the afternoon over lunch, settle in by the fire for a drink, then head upstairs when the evening draws to a close. There is no formal hotel routine here, just comfortable rooms, thoughtful details and a warm welcome downstairs.

Stay in Whichford

Our rooms have been designed to sit naturally alongside the pub. Each one is calm and comfortable, with soft furnishings, well-considered lighting and everything needed for an easy night away.

The setting makes The Norman Knight a useful base for weekends in the North Cotswolds, whether you are visiting nearby villages, setting out for a country walk or simply looking for somewhere quiet to slow down.

Seasonal food downstairs

Food is led by Head Chef Ray Pullen, with menus rooted in seasonality and simplicity. Familiar pub classics sit alongside lighter, more contemporary dishes, all made with quality British ingredients and served without fuss.

The bar stays open throughout the day and into the evening, with local ales, carefully selected wines and well-made cocktails. Our menus change regularly, so there is usually something new to come back for.
